Oznakowanie poziome dróg technologią grubowarstwową po kilku latach traci swoje parametry eksploatacyjne. Skuteczną metodą odnowy takiego oznakowania bez konieczności jego usuwania, a zatem bez ponoszenia dodatkowych kosztów, jest renowacja takiego oznakowania polegająca na nałożeniu cienkiej, o grubości ok. 1mm, warstwy spray-plastu na gorąco lub spray-plastu na zimno, na istniejące oznakowanie oraz posypanie jej odpowiednią ilością mikrokulek szklanych. Road surface markings made with thick-layer technology lose their operational parameters after a few years. An effective method of renewing such markings without having to remove them, and therefore without incurring significant additional costs, is to refinish such markings by applying a thin layer of sprayplast, approximately 1 mm thick, over the existing markings and sprinkling an appropriate amount of glass microspheres on it. Such renewed marking can serve road users for years to come. This type of renovation can be done only with specialized equipment manufactured by leading European companies.

In the era of development of express roads, bypasses and motorways, the road managers (General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, as well as Regional, Municipal and County Roads Authorities) change the organization of roads, and consequently the marking, more frequently.
